My name is Michael Kassouf. I started at SMT in 2023 as president. Prior to becoming president, my trading career began at BIFP in 1996. I am originally from Birmingham, AL and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

What is your favorite thing about the company? The people at SMT make it a fun and a welcoming place to work, a true family atmosphere!

What are some fun facts about yourself? Born and raised in Birmingham, AL. I make a mean Barbeque Sauce! My heritage is 100% Lebanese.

Tell me two truths and a lie. My parents had a family business of an earthworm farm that I worked at through high school and college. I’ve only broken one bone in my entire body. My cat went through a cycle of the washing machine.

Do you have any pets? 2 dogs (Mielow & Najee) & 2 cats (Spike & Nala)

Where have you traveled? Italy is the most exotic place I’ve been. But not the last.

What are some things you love? God and my family: Kelly, Brandon, and Andrew. Alabama Football. I love my Mom and Dad and 2 brothers. And Kelly’s whole family too! Her Sister is my sister. I love Nature and traveling with Kelly. And I love to people watch. Best entertainment ever!
